Ingredients

  • 1 cup Brazil Nut Milk OR Almond Milk
  • 2 tbsp gently rounded Cacao Powder
  • 1 tsp Stevia
  • Single or Double Dash of Cayenne as desired
  • 1-2 Dashes of Nutmeg
  • Gentle Dash of Cinnamon

Instructions

  • If possible, you may prefer to pre-grind nibs to aid in attaining a smoother consistency more quickly.
  • Place all ingredients in blender and blend until mixture warms, scraping down if necessary.  This may take a little while.  You can place your hands on either side of the blender where the liquid is making its rounds to casually monitor the temperature.  You want it to be warm but not overheat.
  • When desired temperature is attained, pour into a small mug and prepare to indulge.

Notes

*This is such a delicious treat that lends something classic yet unexpected to a RAW diet.  If you so desire, you could gently heat this in a sauce pan, though this is really not necessary.  {Just be careful not to scorch it, which is easy to do.}  The cayenne gives you the warming effect without making it spicy; unless, of course, you want it spicy then by all means...hit with some more!

Basic Raw Cacao/Cocoa Powder

So crazy easy, I know you'll never by that junk mix again!
Author: Coach LT

Instructions

  • Just combine equal parts Raw Cacao Powder (or Organic Cocoa Powder) and Organic Evaporated Cane Sugar (you may substitute for some other preferred sweetener but don't you dare use white sugar!).
  • Mix well and store in an airtight jar.  (for simplicity and consistency, you may us a food processor but you can also just rock it out with a whisk/fork and a mixing bowl.  Just be sure to break up any clumps of powder.
  • If you want to get fun with it, toss in a touch of cinnamon, nutmeg or cayenne.
  • When ready for that hot cup of cocoa, pour almond milk or milk of choice in a small sauce pan to heat.  Pour hot milk into mug.  Add you cocoa mix, starting with a tablespoon and adding more to make it as chocolaty as you like.  Viola!  Delicious cocoa without the junk additives.
